What: Mollie Stone’s Market at Bon Air hosts its 4th Annual Hatch Chile Roast. Experts will roast these fragrant green peppers in front of the store in a large propane roaster and chefs will be offering tastes of Hatch Chile dishes such as Hatch Chile Cornbread, house made Hatch Chile Sausages, Hatch Chile Rellanos and more.

About Hatch Chiles: These unique, meaty green peppers are only grown in the fertile soil of Hatch Valley, New Mexico. The nutrient-rich soil, intense sunlight and cool desert nights of the Hatch Valley give the chiles their one-of-a-kind taste. They are packed with earthy flavor and develop heat levels ranging from mild to extra hot. They are only harvested in August and September. Hatch Chiles are traditionally bought in bulk, roasted immediately and frozen to use throughout the year. They are a staple in New Mexican cuisine and add flavor to any recipe, from tacos to chocolate chip cookies.
