Construction is in full swing at Bon Air Center. The center is undergoing an extensive center wide “refresh” renovating all common areas to better serve the community and enhance the pedestrian experience for visitors. Construction is underway at the Wells Fargo Bank end of the center and will continue to take place in a series of six sections/phases, moving toward CVS Pharmacy.
Project completion is expected in time for the holidays. Once complete, the common areas will come to life with a park-like atmosphere complete with wider pedestrian paths and fresh, drought tolerant landscaping designed to capture and reuse rainwater. Additional outdoor gathering areas will feature comfortable seating, fire pits and more. Wi-fi and electric car charging stations are in the plans, along with new family-friendly activity areas that will include a bocce ball court and dedicated children’s play areas to engage all ages to stay, relax and play.
Bon Air Center was built in 1952 as Greenbrae’s commercial and community center. Today the center remains a focal point for local services, retail and restaurant offerings making it an ideal place to shop, dine, stroll and gather with friends. Throughout the year the center hosts community events that showcase local interests and activities. With a whole new look coming in 2016, Bon Air will continue to be the center that brings the community together.
